Jimbo59 Posted June 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2019 Has Anyone Taken the Ferry from Manhattan to the Brooklyn Cruise Port? It goes from Wall Street Pier to Red Hook. What was your experience?
riffatsea Posted June 12, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2019 Haven't done it. Interesting idea. This map shows where the ferry lands and the short walk to the cruise terminal: https://goo.gl/maps/SUskLKq9KoLSaqfcA
Tedferg Posted June 12, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2019 (edited) We are also interested in this for a Sept cruise. Are you looking at a particular hotel ? This question was asked previously and someone showed a video of how easy access and egress to the ferry was. Brighton Line Posted June 12, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2019 It is the South Brooklyn route and would be the 3rd stop. Easy walk to the ship. You could also board at any other stop, ask for a transfer from the deckhand, if not using the NYC Ferry App, and transfer at wall street. I had friends board the express Sound View Route at 34th St (southbound), next stop was Wall Street and transferred to South Brooklyn. The other route from 34th Street routes are Astoria which will stop at Brooklyn Navy yard then Wall Street and the two that make multiple stops before Wall St. Lower East Side and East River. If you can handle your luggage between points, take a cab/uber to 34th Street from a Manhattan Hotel, a great way to start your sea voyage. Ferry's are airconditioned and even sell food/beverages on board.
