I have no idea why it posted the same entry 3 times. I was doing that one on my phone while in a meeting at work. Maybe karma?? 

 

Anyway we went back to the ship and had a few drinks and kicked back and enjoyed out sail away.

For dinner we went and enjoyed sush at Wasabi. Sushi is not included in the standard dining and does cost extra but we had to have sushi while at sea. The presentation on the plate were excellent and it was delicious.

 

Although we we both enjoyed this it was bit spicy for Mrs Zen but it was right in my wheelhouse for spice. We asked the chef if he could make us something less spicy. he said he would surprise us with something. This is what he came up with. I can't tell you exactly what is was but Mrs zen says it was the best bit of sushi she has ever had.

We called it an early night knowing we had a full day ahead tomorrow in Costa Maya.

We woke up to another beautiful morning. Today we are in Costa Maya and we we are going to Maya Chan Beach Resort. We were meeting AZYAYA down at the gangway at 845. We did the breakfast buffet which seems to be out usual. We both went to the omelette station and got our usual omelettes. Soon we went  down and right on time we met AZYAYA and we we off. Maya Chan gave great directions on where to meet for our ride to the resort. It is a little bit of a walk to get to the meeting place. You walk through the port and our on main street out. It is about a 10 minute walk and we had not problem finding the meeting spot.

The Maya Chan rep mentioned that there was a lot of sea grass today so if we wanted to cancel there would be no charge. We we not going to let sea grass ruin our day.  Once you check in they give you wrist band and soon we we off in a taxi. The taxi ride take about 30 minute and is provided by the resort. It was a pleasant ride and it always nice to see life away from the port. 

 

 When we arrived we were greeted and given a tour of the grounds, The have you spot reserved in advances so there is no need to worry about getting a spot. Each spot had a sign welcoming you. We were given some delicious rum punch and it was time to relax.

You can see the sea grass in the background. There we about 10 people there all day cleaning it up. There were paddle boards set up on the ground where seas grass was so you did not have to walk through it.

It was AZYAYA's Wedding Anniversary!

They have lookout tower that is about 20ft up with a couple of chairs. The view is incredible! I spent about and hour or so up there enjoying a few drinks and taking in the view. I could have stayed up there all day.

Soon it was time for lunch. Everything is cooked fresh and Mayan Style. I thought i had taken pictures but i guess i failed. It is served buffet style. There  was fish, chicken, beef and pork to make tacos with. The tortillas we also made fresh. The food was delicious.

 

I can't say enough about how relaxing Maya Chan is.The food and drinks are delicious and the service it top notch. We spent some time in the water. While in the water the staff came out to take your drink orders.

 

This is Maggie and she loves to dig.She is super friendly.I am the guy that goes to a party and makes friends with the dog.

I believe there are 3 dogs hanging out. All them we very friendly and as you can tell by the pictures they are all very comfortable and loved at Maya Chan.

We did manage to squeeze in a game of Jenga before for our day in paradise

 

 

If you are looking for a nice relaxing day at the beach with great food,drinks and service this is the place.We can not wait to return here on our next cruise in April 2020. Until then we squeezed in one last picture on the beach.

It was time to get in out taxi and head back to port. We didn't do any shopping in port. We had been here before so we had been there, done that.

We were back on the ship and it was soon time for sail away. I snapped a few pictures as we left. See you again next year Costa Maya!

I need to make a correction it was tonight that we went to Cagney's where we celebrated AZYAYA's wedding anniversary. Again i didn't take any pictures so no food porn. It is dimly lit in Cagney's so i didn't feel right about taking pics with a flash.

 

After dinner Mrs Zen and I went to Syd Norman's Pour House. It was time to get this party started.

We arrived about 30 minute before showtime. As a heads up get there early. This place fills up fast.

 

Don't even think of sitting here.

Mrs Zen discovered a new drink. Cinnamon Toasted Crunch. These are too good.

We met a family seated next to us who were a lot of fun. It was a mom and father who were on vacation with their young  adult daughters and significant others. Our next cruise is next April and we a taking both of our daughters and there significant others. We are really looking forward to the next cruise. This family was a lot of fun. They were from Michigan from that point on they referred to us as "Arizona" and we referred to them as "Michigan."
