There was a delay with disembarkation so everything was running behind. It was quick getting our luggage and then we were off to Customs. The line for Customs took about 22 minutes & the line was long but kept moving at a slow pace.Once we were out curbside we got in our Uber and we were off to Ft Lauderdale. We we not flying home until Monday so we were in no hurry. The freeway we were supposed to take was shutdown so we had to take and alternate route. Like i said we were in no hurry so that did not bother us.

Along the way we went by Marlins park where the Miami Marlins play.

It was about an 47 minute ride to the Embassy Suites (Airport) where we would be staying the night. We arrived at about 1130 so the rooms were not ready. The lobby was full of people who were either going on a cruise or staying there post cruise.Mr Zen and I went to find somewhere to eat. There is a shopping center directly behind the hotel so we went there. Since it was Cinco De Mayo how could we not go for Mexican food. We  basically  killing time until our room was ready. We had a few beers each and way more food than we wanted to eat,  After about and hour and a half we received a text confirming our room was ready. We went back to the hotel and retrieved out luggage. We had stayed here the year before and our last cruise so we knew what to expect.

We were on the 11th floor so we had a good view of Ft Lauderdale.

A view of the Ft Lauderdale port.

As soon as we got in our room we were ready for a nap. After our nap we went down to the bar for Happy Hour where they serve free drinks & snacks from 400 - 600 pm. Our plan was after the nap  was to go swimming but it rained most of the afternoon. They have a great pool but it wasn't to be on this trip.

We both had a few drinks and went back to the room to relax. We were asleep soon after.

I woke up early as usual so i hit the gym. The gym here is not anything special but it does do the job. After working out i went out to one of the balconies to watch the sunrise.

We had a nice breakfast down in the atrium. They have really nice buffet where they cook your omelettes to order. The buffet was really good and there is plenty to choose from.

A few more random pics.

The patio area by the pool is very nice.

Our flight home to Phoenix was a 1000 am so we left the hotel at 800 am. The Uber rider over was all of 10 minutes and 10 bucks. The line for security was quick and painless. As usual when going through TSA you have to make sure you are wearing cool socks.

The flight home was uneventful which is always a good thing.

Before we knew we were back in Phoenix at the parking lot at the airport. This was a sign that our vacation was officially over.

You two sound like a fun bunch to sail with! Thanks for your detailed review! I'm sailing the Escape in Dec on this itinerary - gave me a lot of good ideas of what to do in each port. 🙂 Nothing cures post-cruise blues like making your favourite ship drink at home. 😉

YUP!! Fireball and Rumchata served in a shooter rimmed with cinnamon sugar!

I tried it and it was AMAZING! It tasted just like cinnamon toast crunch! However, they didn't give me the cinnamon sugar rimmed around the shot glass. :(

Thank you SO much for your fantastic review, we cruise in 19 days, and your review made me all that more excited! Can I pls ask about Mr Sanchos (??) Is that a place in Cozumel, or a excursion?? Looks so fun!
I better start my drink list as well 😉
