Sophia2007 Posted June 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2019 I just booked a 4 day cruise on Sun out of Port Canaveral. Booked through a online search engine and didn't know anything about freebies or options. Nothing was mentioned in the booking paperwork. My itinerary states "open bar" cruise. So my question is...does that include me? I did not select any free wifi/excursions/beverage package or anything. I didn't book the cruise for any freebies, so anything included is cake for us. Is everyone on the cruise included? if it states open bar? If yes, do I pay tax on each drink or extra tips? Only in American waters or international waters? Can my teen daughter get sodas and virgin drinks? in the MDRs or bars? Last minute splurge "broken heart" cruise. So I didn't have much time to look into anything. Thank you for any info. FLAHAM Posted June 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2019 Short Sun cruises are open bar for all. Your daughter will get sodas and non-alcoholic drinks.
Funky Fusion FoodsJ Posted June 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted June 16, 2019 Was on Sun last month. All drinks (other than premium alcohol) are free, no tax or gratuities required (though an occasional tip goes a long way to ensure exceptional service!). I loved the Sun and had a great time! Anita One possible “gotcha”: the Sun free-drinks cruises have a much higher daily service charge to help them offset the “free” drinks. I think it’s about $20/pp per day. https://www.ncl.com/faq%23what-is-onboard-service-charge
