dlesh77 Posted July 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2019 Hi, I apologize if this has been covered. I did a couple searches and could not find anything. My husband and I booked a cruise for April on the Oosterdam. We want to get the premium drink package. We are traveling with and sharing a room with a 73 year old who does not drink. Is there any way around her having to buy the same 360.00 package? Seems stupid. She would easily rather spend that money in the casino instead. Thanks in advance! crystalspin Posted July 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2019 Wait and re-fare under Explore4 (coming in August). If the SBP is part of a promotional, it will apply to only the first two people in the room. Then if you want to upgrade to the Elite Beverage Package, you just go to a bartender on board before using the SBP and pay the difference. Here are what's covered: http://www.rogerjett-photography.com/here/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Beverage-Packages.pdf The prices have changed, I think by +$5 each, and the SBP now covers up to $11 pre-tip price. dlesh77 Posted July 23, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted July 23, 2019 Thanks. We booked with an online cruise agency that had an amazing deal. So I don't think they will let us re-fare.

This is no t a new rule and they are a for -profit business.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 27, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2019 Since you won't be able to re-fare, then you can count on HAL charging your 73 old person for the drink package. She can use that package to buy specialty coffees in the dining room and Explorations Cafe that don't have alcohol. Even mocktails.
Peckishpixie Posted July 29, 2019 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2019 Actually, My husband can't drink coffee or alcohol and I have always been able to call HAL and they waive the everyone in the room requirement for us. I don't know if they would waive it just because you say he doesn't drink, but I have never had anything but fantastic service when I call. I usually go through the accessible cruising desk but I think that ship services will help you. 1–800–541–1576
