sandystx Posted August 11, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2019 Hi. I am looking for Sunday mass during my stop in Nassau. I see St. Francis church is near the port. I am unfamiliar with the area. Is this church walkable from port? Is it a safe walk? The church is at the intersection of West and West Hill St. thank you.

St. Francis Xavier Cathedral is across from the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas and one block from John Watlings Distillery. There will be other people walking in the same direction. Rare CruisinCrow Posted August 15, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2019 It would be about a 10-minute walk, very walkable. Just be aware that it's uphill. I've never been to a church service or mass in Nassau but I've read that people dress their best.
BananaAnna Posted August 19, 2019 #5 Share Posted August 19, 2019 My Godson and I attended mass at St. Frances Xavier about 5 years ago. Beautiful church inside, several musical instruments as opposed to just a piano or organ. We were running late and opted to have a taxi drive us there for $10 total. Afterwards we walked a meandering route back to town and the ship.
