Ships Tour Tauranga/Rotorua

I am helping to organise my Dad's very first cruise and he has quite a bit of non-refundable of OBC.  His first stop is Bay of Islands and as he wants to see some Maori Culture I have recommended that they (he and his friend) go to the Waitangi Treaty House which they can do at their own pace and without using the ship's tours.  Their next stop is Tauranga and as it is his first time to NZ he would really like to go to Rotorua.  One of the options via the ship is Rotorua Maori Village Encounter.  If I was going with him I would take a private tour as I know they are cheaper, but this is his first and he worries about not getting back to the ship on time, where to meet them etc.

What I am wondering is does anyone know anything about a tour called this and what actual village in Rotorua they go to?  I think it could be one of 3, but we would like to know so he could make a decision as he would love to see geothermal activity etc.

Thanks for any info.

You can cash the none refundable OBC out in the casino

I m very interested if you have some information.

we have a cruise in a couple of months on voyager with a $US 1000 OBC ,Which is not refundable and there’s no way we can spend it.

We have only cruised Celebrity, which is owned by RCI so not sure if RC rules are the same but most likely are.  Anyway, used to be that you could cash out your obc at the casino and just lose a percentage to their service charge (5% rings a bell but don't quote me on that!).  A couple years ago they changed their policy and now you can only get cash for winnings that you earn by playing your obc.  So if you're lucky, or good, you can win back enough to cash out but otherwise you'll need to spend it on the ship or lose it.
