On Board Purchases When In Suite

Recommended Posts

This will be our first time staying in a suite.  I know how regular onboard purchases are handled.  You buy something it goes to whatever method of payment you have on file.  How does that work when staying in a suite?  Is it possible to split it up to where my husband, daughter and I are on "one account" and my sister in law and brother in law are on a "second account"?  We are covering the cost of the actual cruise and they understand they are on their own for any purchases they may want.  Didn't want to be splitting out drinks and casino charges each day or at the end of the cruise ....

You will register a credit card when you board for your onboard expenses if you haven’t already done it in your cruise planner. This is done by your cruise card/sea pass,, not by room. So anything that anyone charges to their cruise card will go to their credit card linked  to that card regardless of what room they’re in.

I think daily gratuities also work this way, but that might be worth asking your suite concierge to confirm.

When I've cruised in non-suites you just assign a credit card by guest. So when I cruised with a friend and did checkin I could either add him to the credit card I input or just leave it for myself. The daily gratuities went to whatever card the person was associated with no problem. OBC was automatically split evenly, but you could go to guest services to redistribute (FYI everyone in the cabin has access to OBC in the cruise planner). If the OBC on one person's account isn't completely used and it's non-refundable the excess goes over to another account in the room (not sure on refundable).

On upcoming Harmony cruise 3 of us are sharing a Grand Suite.  Each has own credit card on file thus anything charged will be on account of the person who bought the item.  I paid for the gratuities for the 3 of us when I paid final payment thus that won't be an issue.
