Fort Lauderdale port to closest car rental

We are arriving in FL on 12/20 and will need a rental car.  Any insight about getting to the car rental outlets near the port.   We are staying at the Renaissance and a trip to the airport is not what we need.  Many thanks!

If I recall correctly, there's an Alamo office just outside of the port.  They might even run a free shuttle, or you can spend under $10 for an Uber/Lyft.

Thanks for info.  We ended up sharing a van with another couple to MIA airport for $50 each couple.  Don't know if that was a good price or not but seemed easiest at the time.
