Onboard Credit Questions

Hi everyone & Happy Holidays!

 

This is a Celebrity - specific Onboard Credit question. And thank you all for your insight in advance.

 

I see members talking about refundable vs non-refundable onboard credit. What's the difference and how do you know if your onboard credit is refundable or not?

 

If you onboard credit is refundable, how you do get this credit back in cash at the end of your cruise?

If you have nonrefundable credit you must use it or lose it.  
 

if you have both kinds, they will use the nonrefundable first before dipping into your refundable

 

you can see what you have on your on-board statement

 

Whether you can get the refundable back in cash depends on how much there is.  Small amounts you can get in cash, larger amounts go back to your credit card

When you look at your account on the TV you will see your On Board Credits listed as OBN and OBR.  The N is non refundable, the R is refundable.  Credits from Celebrity itself are, for the most part, non refundable.  Use it or lose it.  OBR credits are usually from your TA or from a Credit Card and will be refunded to a credit card at the end of the cruise if you did not use them.  You can also get cash near the end of the cruise for your OBR's only at Guest Services.
