Hi All,

Just wondering whether anybody here has sailed on the Pacific Dawn recently?

We are thinking of doing a short cruise up the Queensland Coast soon.

Hi,we have a booking in August on the Dawn (first time P & O ) have got a lot of info from the book of faces regarding this ship, seems to be quite popular but you will have to sift through the sameness of questions and replies.

Cheers Carole

We have been on three cruises on the Pacific Dawn in the last four or so months. We enjoyed these cruises, otherwise we wouldn't book more cruises. We prefer Princess, but if we can get a Pacific Dawn cruise at around $100 a night for an overview cabin, we go for it.

Hints - You probably know you cannot take wine on board, and not even water bottles full of water. This is to prevent the smuggling of spirits. Wine on board is cheaper than on Princess, starting at $32 a bottle.

When you board, I suggest you go to the Waterfront Restaurant and book your time for dinner. They claim to have Anytime Dining, but there are really two sittings - 5.15 to 5.45 and the second around 8pm. The production shows aren't great. The best of a poor bunch are "Seven" and "Let's Misbehave". Don't even bother going to "Slumber" - you would be better spending the time asleep - it's terrible.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for that info guys. Thinking of going right around Australia now for maybe 15 days or so.

We've not seen much of the west coast so seems like a plan.

Rick

P&O don't do around Australia. They limit themselves to shorter cruises, leaving the longer ones to Princess. The Princess 'Northern Explorer' to Fremantle is 17 days.
