For those following the aftermath of this eruption and the deaths on the island, thirteen parties appeared in court accused of health and safety breaches prior to the eruption.

An Australian family has won the right to sue Royal in the US.

 

Royal had tried to stop them by lodging a Federal Court case to have the case heard here.  
 

Federal Court did not agree that the terms of the contract meant it had to be heard in NSW.
