Hello

We are thinking of either ship for our next cruise.

For next Sept 07

Family of 4, Son 11 & Daughter 9 at time of cruising.

We are heading out on Disney this Sept Cozumel & Costa Maya and will be making the switch for our next cruise.

If you had the option which ship would you chose?

Do most fly in a day early to SJU?

I am leaning toward the Souther Carib.

Will a JS work for our family?

What is the set up for the JS?

Appreciate any info you can provide to sway me in one direction or another.

Am I picking the correct ship for my family?

And are you allowed to bring alco....just kidding!

From a fellow Smith, we love the AOS. A lot of the other ships do similar routes in the Western and Eastern Caribbean so the AOS itinerary is a little more unique. We always fly in a day or two early, especially during hurricane season to make sure we have time to make the ship (and get a jump start on our vacation) but it is optional. Airfare and hotel rates can be pretty cheap during this time of year if you keep an eye out for specials.

We don't have kids, but the AOS has a great kids' program and lots of activities like the skating rink, in-line skating, and climbing wall so I think there would be plenty to do for all ages.

Good luck deciding. Ah, if only all of life's decisions were this fun!

We've been on both ships. I would give a slight edge to the Mariner because it is in a bit better condition, but we LOVE the southern itinerary. We have been to San Juan twice and like to do at least a day on each end of the cruise. This way, no weather worries (we returned this Monday, many on our ship were not able to get home on scheduled flights due to Sunday's east coast blizzard), and we enjoy spending some time seeing Puerto Rico and hanging at the beach/hotel pools.

I sailed on the Mariner and she was beautiful...we had a great time. That being said we would LOVE to do the Southern itinery so I give my nod to the Adventure soley on port stops.

You'll have a blast on either ship, I did the Eastern route on the Mariner and loved that as well.

I beleive we are going Southern!

Kids are trying to talk me into the FOS though.....

Well now...that's a whole different question!! LOL

The FOS will definately have more to offer for kids of that age.

How about doing the southern this year and next year (or the year after) doing the FOS.
