Check-in Info for NA at Seattle

I'm curious now about how more specifically check-in, boarading goes at Pier 91--is it like before cov. when you'd arrive in the parking lot, walk up to the front door of the huge building at the foot of the "parking" lot and enter that building, turn in your luggage inside (as I recall), go through your check-in process and board from the far end of the building there?

Or somehow is it done outside near the parking area and do you get processed somehow out there and  board from outside there without going into the building. 

Is there any area to sit down should you need to in whatever area is the boarding area?

Everyone has been so helpful posting from onboard, but I don't recall reading any real details and am wondering if the boarding area has changed to outside the building??  And what about any seating, in case.

Thank you all for any help clearing up my confusion.

It is basically like pre-covid days. We sailed Aug. 14th. I left DH at the pier, got a porter to take the checked luggage and then I parked the car. I came back and we got the scooter and walker from the kiosk then proceeded to the building. From that point it was the same. There were 3 lines - ADA, 4-5 star, and regular. We were in the ADA but we could have done the 4-5 star line as well. At the head of the line they checked your passport, boarding pass, etc. and then sent us to the elevator. Next stop was upstairs for security then to the check-in area. Once checked in it was walk onto the ship.

Thank you so much for the info.  Is there any area to sit down that you noticed inside the terminal should that be necessary?

I didn't notice any place to sit on the lower level. There were chairs set up upstairs.

There are a few benches outside. I spotted 2 or 3. On the lower level inside it is all lines and documentation checks and I didn't notice seating anywhere. It was a very smooth and quick process overall.

All the luggage (except carry-on) is collected outside the terminal.  Outside the front door you will be asked if you have your boarding pass, if you don't an agent will print out one for you. 

 

Upon entering, you will need your passport (or similar WHTI approved travel document), proof of vaccine and copy of your negative Covid test result.  All of these documents will be looked at by the wellness team.  If your last vaccine dose is less than 14 days of the day you are sailing, you will be denied boarding.  Pier 91 (and Pier 66) are super strict, and there are no exceptions.  If you indicated not feeling well on your health info you may be referred to a secondary health screening.

 

  After the wellness team clears you,  passengers head upstairs (elevator/escalator) to go thru the usual security screening, then off to check-in.  Room keys are waiting for passengers outside their stateroom door.
