Joe817 Posted September 14, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2021 We'll see. Wishful thinking on Carnival's part, IMO.

Yep, got the same robocall this afternoon. While I'm having some trouble finding a hotel room for the night before embarkation, I was able to talk to the place where we usually park our car during the cruise and they have indicated that they will be open for business. It will be interesting to see how the embarkation goes (assuming it happens) as I'm not sure to what point the infrastructure around the port (electricity, water, roads, etc.) have recovered from Ida. Also, interested to see if hotels, restaurants, taxis, uber, etc will be operating as normal. I can only assume that Carnival has done their investigation and concluded that the port is ready to welcome passengers. Time will tell. Zingy2 Posted September 14, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2021 Let's hope Tropical Storm (potentially soon to be Hurricane) Nicholas does not cause any potential issues for either Texas or Louisiana. Time will tell. With respect to lodging and/or other establishments being open/closed currently in NOLA, the hotel we are booked to stay in for our Jan 2022 cruise is currently closed to the public until at least 30 September 2021, as it is being used by the First Responders, utility and maintenance folks who have come to NOLA to support the Hurricane Ida recovery effort. Good luck and happy cruising to those who are scheduled to sail from NOLA in the near future. Hopefully, the logistics issues will be minimal.
