Covid Testing - Different Ships/Ports

We are booked for the 11/28-12/5 Edge sailing out of Port Everglades.

Since we can’t seem to leave well enough alone, we are thinking of adding on a 5-night Summit cruise from POM 12/6-12/11.

I know that there are arrangements in place for B2B cruisers on the same ship to be tested before returning to the same ship. But is there any testing available onboard at the end of our first (Edge) cruise that would work for the (2 day) embarkation testing requirement for our second (Summit) cruise? Or would we need to find a separate testing facility?

The Celebrity FAQ indicates that they are doing B2B testing even for cruises several days apart:

We can accommodate vaccinated guests on as many consecutive/back-to-back cruises as they wish. Guests who sail on back-to-back cruises must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 and are required to take a COVID-19 test producing negative results between each sailing. This test will be administered by Celebrity Cruises at no expense to the guest, as long as your consecutive cruises are less than two days apart. Visit Guest Services while onboard to arrange this test ahead of your next cruise.   Negative COVID-19 test results acquired from a COVID-19 test taken aboard another Celebrity Cruises or Royal Caribbean International ship will be accepted as long as the test is taken within two days of embarkation for vaccinated guests.

Not sure how RCL got into this.  OP is taking a side-by-side on 2 Celebrity ships.

@SeasideMemories

Yes, Celebrity will handle testing for a side-by-side providing it fits within the two day requirement.  The test is performed the day prior to disembarkation.  In your case, you would be tested along with those who need it for international travel on 12/4, and that works for your 12/6 departure.

You need to let guest relations know when you board on 11/28 that you will be needing the test so that you can be added to the schedule/list.

This is routinely done between X and X, and between RCL and X.  We have even had a rare few first hand reports that tests have been provided by X when the subsequent cruise was on one of the "other" lines.

I am not sure if this will work for us. We are disembarking from Apex on 12/11 and embarking the Constellation on 12/13. I am sure that they have too much to do on the turn-around day to test us but will give them a ring.

Indeed, that's one day too many.

Certainly worth a call, but I'd be very cautious about talking to regular shoreside agents and making any assumptions about getting good info, and having your special situation communicated TO and more important, answered BY staff on Apex.  I'd definitely have a solid backup plan.

Yes! You will get tested on board. We have 12/11-12/18 booked and were thinking of doing the 12/5-12/11 on summit as well and were told we would be tested on board. We decided not to do it since our 12/11 cruise is a freebie from the casino and God forbid we would test positive on the first one and then lose our free cruise. We were hoping there was another short on after the free one, but there isn’t.

I will be very grateful if you post information about this as we are disembarking from Millennium on 03/03 and embarking the Apex on 03/05. Since we are from Bulgaria, it will be very difficult for us, logistically, to take a test. We sincerely hope this is possible on the ship. Sylvia
