the Starters!:

The Crabcake! And let me tell you HOLY CRAB! It was good! That was by far the best crabcake I ate ANYWHERE in the world! Sorry Royal Caribbeans 150 central park! MSC Yacht Club bested you!

Then I had:

Vitello Tonato… I did NOT care for the Strawberry syrup… it was… interesting and still tasted quite good but… Strawberrys with Tuna?... ahhh…

Entrees:

The Risotto. Because I am addicted to Risotto… and it was a good risotto… the crispy sausage was a shredded burger patty though

Then:

Duckbreast without the sides… because I seriously don’t care for Potatoes (and that out of the mouth of a German… I can never go home again (YAY!!!)) Was good! Not the best I ever had but not the worst either.

After that and because I am weird:

The Seabass…

I am very sorry to say it but that was the WORST piece of fish I had in my entire life… it went back to the kitchen after the first bite… the sear on it was good but… I don’t want to give anyone the fault but I don’t want to get foodpoisoning on Vacation… that fish tasted not just… well fishy… it tasted rotten!... I DID tell the waiter and the chef came out apologizing PROFUSELY to me… he had tasted it himself in the kitchen and was embarrassed to the roots of his hair for serving me that piece of fish… I was nice and did NOT yell at him… I made him promis though to never EVER do that again and TASTE what he is cooking BEFORE he sends it out… He promised on his hands and knees…

Despite the fish and my appetite diminishing thanks to that I still had dessert though:

Crispy Tulip

Yesterday was my unlucky day with dinner apparently… while the fake strawberry on the Vitelo tasted weird with the Tuna sauce… the fresh strawberries didn’t taste of anything at all… not even freaking strawberries… and now I will run around in Berlin in search of squared Tulips!!!!

Then I had:

The petie fours!

What am I supposed to say to them?... do you guys want a analizes of every single one of them? Let me know and I will sit down and write you a hilarious review of them…

Other than that? See you later! (If I am able to still post…)

We love your reviews especially the food commentaries.  Would love to hear about the petite fours.  Your sense of humor is much appreciated.

Wonderful review!... Congrats!...

As regarding your cabin number: MSC has forbidden solo cruisers a few years ago. Then they have permitted them again just a little bit before the pandemic. Either way: As in many other MSC related subjects, sometimes their left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing... Fortunately, at least, on what really matters they actually solved the situation as it was expected. Enjoy the very deserved free upgrade!...

As for food: I absolutely understand their current challenges on these post pandemic days. To restart a business is not like pick a button on a smartphone app!... There is an entire world on top of it!... Menus are pretty compact, surely!... For a premium service like YC that's only acceptable to an extent... But it has been the same pretty much everywhere... Hope things improve with the time!...

Have a nice day!...

I had the same issues logging in- and I had such a nice post for you Betty- don´t ask I forgot- I am getting on in years. LOL.

Ah those food pictures bring back such nice memories of October. Sometimes their SAT connection was bad - I had the same problems posting anything or attaching pictures to an E-Mail.

I just read that MSC did not allow solo cruises pre pandemic or a few years back. Oh my- and that in a time where solo cruises are more an more common.

That fish really did not look so appetizing- hm- I never order fish ( not a big fish fan- other then fish´n chips) so I can not compare.

Do you enjoy the nice quite atmosphere in the YC Lounge- sometimes I could have done without live entertainment, but other then that- wonderful.

Enjoy the rest of your voyage!
