Fresh off the Breeze. Any questions?

I just got home from the Nov 8 - 13   Costa Maya / Cozumel trip. I don't really do long form reviews but I can answer any questions that I can.

We had a cove balcony under guest services  We booked a few weeks ago at a super rate with $500 OBC.  I normally prepay grats but didn't this time since I'd use the OBC to cover that.  I'm a light drinker and had one cocktail a day.  All of them were really good especially the 555 degrees cocktail at the Steak House.  Both Cocina and 555 Steak house were really good.   The mushroom appetizer dip with the pearl was interesting and sparked the same reaction from our table and the two tables next to us.  Very funny but not very clean to repeat.   The art at your table dessert was amazing.

We didn't have any production shows due to some technical difficulty but moving the comedy club to the theater was cool.

Embarking and debarking was really smooth.  Weather was nice and seas were really smooth.  Masks were painless and I pretty much wore them where I was supposed.  If I didn't it was generally because I forgot to (and sometimes forgot to take it off.)    There were places I choose not to (mainly the main theater)  but I was very socially distanced and would put it on when a bartender came up for service.

Speaking of the lack of crowds was amazing.  I've been on the Magic when it was packed and the difference is night and day.     Being able to walk the halls freely,  catch an elevator quickly,   show up to events last minute and still find a seat,   find a lounge chair on the lido deck or Serenity with hardly any chair hogs to be seen was wonderful.

The HUB app is pretty cool.  I used the deliver to anywhere on the ship.  I think COVID has changed peoples behaviors (GrubHub, UberEats, Door Dash...)  and that's a feature that should be expanded.  A lot of value add there.  Also being able to request a table in the MDR and have the table # sent to you for a waitless escort is soo much better then the old system.  I think some of these changes are going to stick around for a long time to come and that's a good thing.

Anyways that's already more then I thought I'd write so please feel free to ask me anything and I'll answer if I can.

I saw the modified version of Flick with the three singers sitting on chairs.  I just have missed it if it was performed on any other days.

Pretty sure she meant over and over on all the different Carnival cruises she has been on. Your review said there were no shows but, you just posted you saw Flick. Maybe you were busy having fun elsewhere and missed the other shows?

Good to hear you liked Cucina and 555. I'm hoping to try them for the first time on Horizon next month.

I was on right before you. I had the same reaction about the mushroom thing at the steakhouse. I don’t even like mushrooms but didn’t want to be rude and what were you supposed to do with the thing on the spoon??? Overall I think that all the food was great onboard but I did not go to the buffet.  I am ready to go back on the same ship!

Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me how would be the best way to get to the Serenity deck from the Lido deck.  It seems that most of our cruises the Serenity deck is on the BACK of the ship but this one is on the FRONT.  Looks like it's a long walk from Serenity to go down and grab food.

I recently had double knee replacements and my wife really needs to have them but haven't yet.  We would walk up to the deck 10 fwd elevators and take that to deck 11 then walk to the front and catch the spa elevator up to deck 15.   If you don't have problems climbing stairs the easier thing to do is probably just go up the stairs to 11 12 then 15.

FWIW, the decks get shorter the higher you go.  If your talking about the front half of the lido marketplace being open to serenity it's probably about 1/2 the length of the ship.

The app had food delivery for $5.  You ordered your food, took a picture of what you looked like and indicated on the map your apx location.  I did this one day and the food arrived while I was resting in the hot tub.    I had to spend that $500 OBC some how. 🙂

Thank you so much.  Makes sense now.

I drove into Galveston so don't know transportation options from the Inn.  I'd assume either they have a shuttle, or catch a cab or uber.

I don't know the answer to laundry service.  I didn't see any mid week flyers for specials or anything. I didn't have a need so I didn't look.

I remember what she looks like and what her voice sounds like and must have heard her name a hundred times but for the life of me I don't recall.   I've never really interacted with any CDs in the few (5) cruises that I've done.
