Medallion Question

Yes. No need for the medallion to make physical contact with anything.

It was interesting on our last cruise a couple of weeks ago on the Emerald to watch how the unlocking mechanism responded to us approaching the cabin door.

Even with my wife and I standing side-by-side, sometimes it would sense her and not me, other times it was sense me and not her, other times it would sense both of us. In any case the door always opened while the medallions remained firmly in our pockets.

If you keep the medallion in your pocket or purse and walk up to your cabin door will it unlock automatically without taking the medallion out and holding it near the door.

In my experience, the answer is most of the time.  When it has been in my back pocket, I sometimes had to turn around.

Thankyou for all replys.

Hi Awinte2,

I always had the medallion in my pocket and the door would unlock as I approached. 3 or 4 feet away.
