I still don't understand the popularity of this candied Bacon.  It seems such an odd appetizer.  I will  have to try this during my next HAL cruise.  Escargot?  I'll take two, please.

Growing up I hated Ham . It was either very smokey or very salty  . And then I tried a Honeybaked  Ham and things changed . Will this do for bacon what Honeybaked did for Ham ? Probably not but we think that it's a step in the right direction . It's a treat for us - but like Escargot , we wouldn't like to eat it all the time .

We forgot that on the way to dinner on the previous evening we stops at the Lincoln Center Stage when we heard this song .

I could name that song in 2 notes . When they finished we tried to walk down the covered area toward the restaurant when a door flew open blocking our path . The musicians rushed out carrying their instruments and almost sideswiping us . We veered and almost collided the a ship's officer in full dress uniform with his lady . It seemed like everyone was busy on the last evening at sea .

Dinner on our final evening was in the Tamarind and we had a little drama before we received any food . The Fire alarm went off and 4 junior officers that were seated for dinner scurried off . The Captain made a quick announcement that there was smoke in the ship's laundry . It was a belt from one of the dryers that made some smoke - but no fire .

I have experienced that kind of event as well.  During a reception that I attended, the Master and the Hotel Manager were in attendance.  The fire alarm sounded and they scurried out of the Explorer's Lounge headed for the Bridge.  A couple of minutes later, the Staff Captain ran by, headed for the mid-ship's stairway as we watched the fire team arrive and suit up.  We, the guests, wondered, with our drinks in hand:  what in the heck ought we do?  Very shortly, the Captain announced on the PA what was taking place.  A waste basket fire in a crew cabin was the cause and the fire team had everything under control.  Such an experience does increase one's blood pressure, however, for awhile.  Just another travel adventure!

When I worked for Fire Rescue in Miami Dade  County we had 3 signals to alert us . The first one was a regular phone . A hot line phone had a different , louder ring that usually dispatched 1 unit . Most likely it was Rescue which is what I drove and rode on . The third was a Klaxon alarm followed by the units numbers dispatched . In a normal fire it would be 3 engines and a Rescue and possibly a Chief . The Klaxon going off in the middle of the night when you were sleeping felt like you were being defibrillated at 400 watt / seconds and had a white a high powered light being shined in your face simultaneously .😱

Thanks again for sharing your cruise.

Your pictures were terrific.

When's your next cruise?

You're welcome and Thank you . We still have some more photos to edit and share . Next cruise will be on the Enchanted Princess on Tuesday the 8th . It's an early Anniversary cruise this year . We were going on the exact date but changed it to avoid being here when the pool is being resurfaced .
