Celebrity Edge - Sky Suite Questions

Hi, I am on the Edge with 2 friends in May in Sky Suite 9183. I have been on a number of Celebrity cruises but this will be the first time in a Suite (it's my friends 50th birthday so we decided to really treat ourselves). I hope you can help with some questions I have.

What time we are allowed to embark?

Are the Suites available immediately upon embarkation or do we need to wait until the afternoon to get access?

Do Suite guests get their luggage any earlier or is it just pot luck?

Will we be OK to decorate the Suite with balloons/banners etc to celebrate?

Will there be 3 of everything in the Suite i.e. 3 chairs on the balcony/3 glasses etc

Would Luminae be willing to provide a birthday cake? (appreciate there may be a charge for this).

Thank you for any help, I am so excited about this trip, neither of my 2 friends have cruised before so I want this to be the experience of a lifetime for them.

When you do on-line check in using the celebrity app you will see a choice of check-in times.  Select one that is convenient for the 3 of you.  Since your in a suite you can board when you arrive so earlier than your time isn’t a problem.

Once on the ship you can go directly to your suite where you will find your sea pass cards and you can drop any carry on luggage.  The suite may or may not be totally ready but you can head to Luminae for lunch.

I don’t know if suite guests get luggage faster but we boarded at 11 15 and had our luggage when we got back to the Suite after lunch.

You can decorate the suite just don’t use anything to secure items that would mark or damage the walls or ceiling.  Our last cruise was on DHs birthday, I told our Retreat Host and on the actual birthday he decorated the suite with balloons, flowers, a sign on the door and a cake.

im sure if there are not 3 chairs on the balcony the your Host will get a 3rd if you ask.

We had a Sky Suite last August on the Equinox for our 50th anniversary and the following is our experience, also our first Suite experience.

We arrived at the FLL port at 11:20am and used the suites only entrance and was immediately taken upstairs to the VIP suites lounge. We were escorted to our cabin at 11:30am and then did lunch in Luminae at noon. Our luggage was in our cabin when we returned after lunch.

You will have a Butler that will take care of any celebration needs, like decorating you cabin with balloons and posters. He and our room steward completely decorated our cabin the night of our anniversary and left us a bottle of French champagne with red rose pedals on the bed.. At dinner that night the Luminae staff gave us a delicious chocolate mousse cake to celebrate and there was no cost. It was large enough for 4 or 5 people too, we took the left over back to our mini fridge.

Your Butler will take care of making sure you have 3 of everything at no charge, make sure you use him for booking dinners and on the Gala nights you will have special reserved seating in the main theater.

You will love the Suite and the Retreat, make sure you use them all. We now are only booking Sky Suites going forward and 5 of them booked over the next 3 years.

Just a note that being escorted to your cabin is not consistently done. On my Apex cruise last month (December '21) we had no escort to our room. The only escort was from the entrance at Terminal 25 to the elevators to the Retreat Check-in area.

Our experience also.  But we don’t need an escort, so not a problem.

We celebrated my wife’s 60th on July 4th on edge , we did move up to penthouse but retreat host brought in a huge birthday cake to our suite along with the entire concierge staff and sang happy birthday,  I have pictures someplace. But retreat and Luminae is fantastic no matter what suite you have booked.

Last August on the Equinox the shore person took up the gang plank and handed us off to our Butler who escorted us to our cabin. I do not know if this is standard, but it was nice.
