Nassau help (timing and beach)

Hi! We are in Nassau from 7:00-3:00

These are my plans so far...

  • Queens Staircase
  • Government house
  • Greycliff Manor (Chocolate Factory/cigar rolling)
  • John Waltings Rum Factory
  • Lunch
  • Beach
  • Brewing Company

Will I have time for this? Which beach should we do? I know Junkanoo is the most convenient, but is it gross? I hear about tons of trash floating. I would like Cable but is that hard to access, particularly without getting a day pass?

Thanks!

You're trying to fit too much in. Assume that most places do not open until 9:00 at the earliest. If your ship leaves at 3 PM, on board time is 2 PM, which means you need to start heading back to the ship around 1:30. Just pick 2 or 3 and enjoy yourself.

Following.

I have been trying to figure out what to do in Nassau this time around.  Thanks for the ideas.  I am thinking we only due a few site seeing stops and skip the beach on this stop.  Does anyone have a good/safe walking plan to see the Queen's staircase and the John Waltings Distillery?  Or is there any other recommended highlights to take in by foot or a short taxi ride?

I agree with mets123, you're trying to do to much.  Skip the beach and do the walking tour of Queen's Staircase, Government House, Graycliff and Watlings (Graycliff and Watlings are pretty close together).  Then walk back down towards port and have lunch before getting back on the ship.

I think in Nassau, you have to be back on the ship half an hour before sailing.  But it can take a while to get through security at the pier (at least it did pre-covid) and the pier is a long walk so it's better to count on an hour.  Also factor in "island time" when you're getting lunch. 🙂

I think that is way too much. We have been on many cruises. You will have 6 hours in port total. IMO that is too much to do in the allotted time. Pick one or two and have fun. This list looks exhausting.
