Issues with Medallion Dining if sailing back-to-back

Currently on a back-to-back cruise on the Caribbean Princess.  We have encountered multiple issues with Dining reservation scheduling anybody doing back-to-back cruises should be aware of.

 

First issue is the Medallion App does not know how to handle 2 or more cruises.  The app will show tables and reservations available over the 2 weeks of cruises, but we could not confirm them.  So we put in daily reservations, confirmed each one, and saw them in the app.  The next day they were all gone. Rebooked each day again, and they all disappeared within eight hours.

 

Called Princess Dine My Way support, and they said it was a known issue for back-to-back cruises. We were told IT would fix a faulty link within 24 hours.  Checked back 24 hours later and got errors trying to book reservations.  Called Dine My Way support again, who made our reservations each night for us.

 

The next day reservations were gone again.  Called support yet again, who confirmed the reservations were all erased.  Support input them into the system and overrode errors to save them. Told us to confirm them on the ship when we boarded, but app would be useless for making dining reservations. By this time we had spent over 2.5 hours on the phone with Support.

 

On board we checked with the maitre d, who confirmed we had a standing dinner reservation each night for our 2 cruises at the same table.

 

First week went well, no issues at dinner.  Second week we and two other couples showed up in the system booked for our table for 2 at the same time. We were told it would be fixed by the second night.  The second night we were given another table. Another reservation was overwriting ours.

 

At least we still had a reservation.  Guest relations had no explanation for reservation issues, other than it was a well known issue for back to back cruises. Said this was out of their control.

 

Hope somebody from Princess sees this.  IT needs to fix issues that cause so much frustration.  They do not have trouble ordering Medallion net access for both cruises thru the App when we are spending more money.

Sorry to learn about your DMW issues…there seems to be more issues than less. We have a B2B in a couple of weeks & appreciate sharing the issues…hopefully it won’t be as bad as your constant snafus. 🤞

This should be taken care of and checked daily by someone.  I thought cruising was supposed to be stress free!!  Hope things work out for you.  We have 5 B2Bs next year and are worried for sure.
