Handicap Boarding

I travel with someone who uses a scooter -  Normally @ Port Canaveral and we've always just been ushered in as soon as he rolls up, but haven't noticed anything special with regards to times and such (we usually try and arrive around the assigned time).

It depends on the port.

When we traveled with my Dad (out of Baltimore), using a walker, they saw this, came over with a wheelchair.  After check in, he was put in a line of other wheelchairs, and as someone came available, we boarded as a group through the crew access (dock level deck 1) instead of up the ramp to deck 4.

My husband needs a wheelchair to board.  We have one rented of the cruise. (On Symphony)

Where is the best place to be dropped off to get a wheelchair without a lot of walking ?

His balance is not good so he cannot stand in line a long time.  He will use a cane until we can get to

a wheelchair or other chair until boarding. We are diamond plus in a suite.  Is that pretty available as soon as enter the door ?  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

When I was using a scooter for a broken foot in the Before Times, we were checked in more quickly because we were escorted upstairs by the concessionaire to get the scooter, but boarding was already happening and we went straight to the gate. At Canaveral, they did send me up the first gangway, while everyone else went up the second.

I'd like to learn this as well. Symphony and Oasis both go out of Miami and I've never gone out of there.  I know at some other terminals, you can go straight to the wheelchair assistance area.  But I don't know where that is at the Miami terminal.
