Rare asnaleah Posted June 22, 2022 #26 Share Posted June 22, 2022 So, I have survived 17 days without spring water. The Vero on board does not cause any water retention and tastes okay if chilled. I prefer spring water but certainly understand the reason behind Regent’s decision. Lots less waste.
Rare ysolde Posted June 27, 2022 #27 Share Posted June 27, 2022 Sigh. I'll skip it until I know more. My immunity is a bit low, and I don't need to add mycobacteria to the mix. Those flourish in water tanks, pipes and taps, which is why I avoid tap water and ice most places, avoid hot tubs, and keep showers short. Oh, well. shuguley Posted June 27, 2022 Author #28 Share Posted June 27, 2022 Just got back from our Explorer cruise and can confirm that Vero water was available in both still and carbonated.
Rare ysolde Posted June 27, 2022 #29 Share Posted June 27, 2022 Does anyone know whether we are allowed to bring a case of spring water from port? Or does Regent not allow that?
mrstanley Posted June 27, 2022 #30 Share Posted June 27, 2022 We bought collapsible water bottles to bring. Will fill them up with Pellagrino or with bottled water when off the ship.

The Vero water is ultra-filtered so is probably lower in microbes than most bottled waters, many of which have been found (at least in the past) to contain more bacteria than the tap water in several major cities.

Then it's good news no matter what I end up drinking! Thank you!
UUNetBill Posted July 6, 2022 #33 Share Posted July 6, 2022 I've always been of the opinion that distilled beverages of say, oh, 80 proof or so seem to kill off any microbes just fine. 🥃 1
