Independence of the Seas - RCI - Cabin update info

Hello all,

 

I’m hoping someone on here can help me answer a question. I’ve book an ocean view room on Independence in July. I’ve seen several photos of the room. Some photos show a modern/updated version while other photos show a dated looking room with green carpet and curtains to match. Can anyone tell me if all the rooms were given a refresh in the last 5 years? I’ve attached two different photos. 
EDIT: I’m in Stateroom 2618 of that helps any.

Looks similar to your old image of decor

i know a different cabin type,  it highlights decor not updated

Top photo based on layout looks like a balcony cabin, though I might be wrong.  Did you google your cabin number?

The cabins have not been updated.  They added some cabins during the refurb and those are the ones with the more modern look.

The new panoramics on deck 12 are modern. All others are the old green/oak look. 
But other than that, Indy is really nice!

Thank you all for the clarification! I’m just glad they haven’t completely ripped apart the gym on Independence for more cabins, yet!

That is one of the new cabins from her AMP (probably balcony on deck 11) - those are the only ones which will look newish like that. Marketing materials from RCI for the look of the cabin can be very misleading.

They will not completely rip apart the gym and it will remain very functional, but they have taken some space from there to add three JS, two interior, and on large panoramic OV stateroom on the starboard side, deck 11.  The deck plans on the RCCL website will show their location.  They have added staterooms in similar locations (such as those on deck 12) on a few ship classes over the years.
