Warning if booking discounted players club cruises online

Three times i have used the link from a players club email to book a 35 percent discounted cruise.  The price shows correctly with the discount applied up thru final booking steps.  When I get the email confirmation, the discount is gone and the price that shows is the non discounted  price.  This is not a free cruise, but a discount using casino code.  Please check your attached receipt if booking online thru any links sent by the players club.   My last cruise was an 850 dollar difference per person.  Not kewl.

Wow.  Is Princess able to fix this or do you need to cancel and rebook?  I usually have my TA book the discounted cruises for me but did book it myself once and I transferred it to her.  It worked like a champ then but it's sad to know that it's broken now.  Hope you can get the right fare on your bookings.

@azbirdmom.  I had to cancel thru text chat  and will need to call in as the text chat does not know how to book a code casino cruise.  I keep telling them it is a problem, but half the time they tell me it’s cause I have to call the casino line to do a discounted booking, which is not true.

It's still doing that?  It did that to me a couple times when I was pricing about a month ago.  My CVP saw that I made two courtesy holds so he emailed me that he found a better deal (the casino discount) and he created a new booking (I assume so he could get the credit, and he's been useless ever since, but that's another story) that I was able to make payment online.

In the future I'd go the courtesy hold route first and not straight to full payment, just to be safe.

I believe all it takes is inputting the word CASINO in a field in the booking engine to trigger the discount so the chat person should be able to handle that.  My TA books the discounted ones for us (or I have done it online and transferred them to her - now questionable due to your post) and it only takes her seconds to do it.

Where do you add the Casino code?  Thanks.

A travel agent would know. It’s not something that we can do for ourselves through the Princess website. Well actually we had figured out a workaround by launching from a Princess Players Club website which applied the discounts but that seems to not be functioning right now.

Yep the chat people should be able to do it.  I even tell them exactly how to do it.  They won’t.  They tell me it must be booked thru the casino.  I have given up trying to get them to do it😀

Sounds like it is one more thing that used to work like a champ for years that is now broken.  Sad.  Very, very sad.
