For y’all’s information, if you can sweet talk the Manager of the Restaurant, you might can get their special on a different night. Just did that on Eurodam to Alaska. Got grilled shrimp on Wed instead of Sat.

Forgot to mention you need to arrange this ahead of time. We ate Tamarind on Saturday and arranged on Sunday to have shrimp on Wednesday.

On our July 17 Westerdam cruise, Canaletto was only open on Wednesday and Thursday due to a "galley problem." The Sunday special was served on Wednesday and the Monday special was served on Thursday because "The chef wants to offer the most popular entrees." Really bummed me out because I had booked a complementary dine specifically for the veal liver. Server and manager both tried to get me the regular Wednesday special. No such luck.

However, on our February on the Rotterdam I was told by the Canaletto manager on Wednesday to let him know a day ahead and I could have the liver on any night. Had it again on Friday night for our second complementary dine. Very similar to Redneck Bob's ecperience.

Did the same thing (but not in advance).  They were able to do the shrimp on a different night, but had to sub something for the rice pilaf.  A 'thank you' to the chef for doing something special as we were leaving was highly appreciated.

Thanks for sharing. The Managers of the Speciality Restaurants on the Eurodam this summer were all outstanding. Doddy at Canaletto, Hazel at Tarmaind and Abigail at Pinnacle.

How did you contact the manager of the Canaletto?  We really want to do it.

As Cruise Suzy said just go to Canaletto a few days before you wish to dine.  Or just tell Doddy, you know RedneckBob; maybe not, he may ask you to dine at another restaurant 😀

Will tell him!  We usually hang out in that area for lunches anyway as its quieter and nicer.
