Yes but some people shower at night before dinner rather than in the morning.

Whuch would be us !

Can't imagine being out all day, and then not showering before getting ready for dinner.

We shower in the morning and then in the evening, tidying up the room as we go. I suppose it is my military  upbringing that my father instilled on me. Having said that, he would put his shoes outside his cabin door expecting them to be polished.

We actually prefer not having the turndown service.  Means we don't have to tidy the cabin before the steward tidies it up !

On my "cruise" last month, the cabin steward left my cabin in this state for 3 weeks.  No tips for him.

This is what happens when standards are diluted. Those who don't get why the turndown service should be kept, probably won't get why you'll be carrying your own suitcases to your cabins eventually.
