Eating iguana

The kids really want to try something "exotic" and thought iguana might be a good choice.  Any recommendations, ideally, near the port?

First it's illegal to hunt iguanas as they are endangered.  There are some iguana farms on the island and there may be places where iguana is on the menu.  But focus on something not endangered like lionfish!

Agree with Crew if you can find lionfish, although it doesn't seem to have been as prevalent recently.

 

Not exotic but maybe just concentrate on “local” food like baleadas or anafres.

If you happen to be stopping in Grand Cayman, they have a bounty on Iguana and I'm sure you can find a restaurant that has some.  They also have a limited supply each day of sea turtle, which was nasty IMO.

We just spent almost 2 weeks in Roatan.  We didn't see iguana on the menu anywhere.  We didn't even see any during our entire visit.
