BLAMBKY Posted August 21, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2022 If they (Wonder of the Seas) make up the sofa bed for a child in a 3 person cabin, do they have any sort of rail that can be added, like they do for drop down beds? Just trying to figure out if it is possible to not bother fooling with pack and play.
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 21, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2022 How young is the child, and how wild a sleeper? I’m not familiar with the sofa beds on Royal, or if they are the same on all ships. People used to recommend if they have a fixed back, and they are movable, turn them around with the front against the wall. Some recommend rolling up a blanket and put it under the bottom sheet along the edge. Others, just ask for more pillows to put on the floor by the couch in case they fall out. Perhaps some others will be by with Royal know, edge. You might also ask on the board here for Royal. EM
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted August 21, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2022 here is what the sofa bed on the Harmony looked like. You can prop the kid up with the chair. That's what we did on the Allure - we decided not to roll the sofa out because it took too much space in an inside cabin (DS was 8). We used extra pillows to make a border on the other Allure sailing when he had a double sofa sleeper all to himself. But he was 11 by then. How old is the child? How mobile? When DS was 5 months old, we traveled with him and just the matt from the pack and play. Not the entire pack and play. He wasn't mobile at that age. Are you flying or driving to the port? We will be driving to the port, just wondered if there was an option to not use the pack & play as it makes the space tighter. he will be 1.5 at sailing. woostergirl Posted August 29, 2022 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2022 We were just on Navigator in a panorama oceanview room (1864) and our kids used the sofabed. It is quite low when they make it into a double. Not sure if the sofa beds on the Wonder are like the ones on Navigator, but the sofa bed is a trundle-style and the trundle does pop up to the seat cushion, but it is pretty low. I don't think a rail would be possible. In our cabin when the sofabed was made it was also very close to the partition you see in the pic attached. However, the idea of extra pillows or a chair would work!
