What to do in Barbados?

We will be stopping in Barbados in November on a 12 night cruise on RC Enchantment. I am looking for suggestions on things to do or any information about the port area as there are not - at this time - any ship offered excursions that our group is interested in. We are a couple of 56 year olds, a very active 77 year old and a 72 year old who has had a hip replacement. Thanks for your help!

There is nothing, except duty free shops, within the port area.  
Outside the dock gates to the left across the roundabout (be prepared to run the gauntlet of over eager cab drivers seeking a fare), there used to be a selection of okay, nothing outstanding,  independent shops running from the roundabout to the bus depot.  
As it appears you’re not enamoured with the land based sights etc of ship tour offerings, then for something very special, take an Elegance Sail with a good lunch and drinks etc.  Book early as they sell out quickly.

For the money, as you say in the USA “It’s the best bang for the buck” in Barbados.

Feel there could be a “let’s do this again” thought post sail.

Know you’ll have a great time….. Enjoy…

If wishing a full land tour…

Contact Beautiful Barbados for a bespoke full day tour to one’s requirements.  It can include a Bajan Lunch (consider Juju’s) and rum/drinks (possibly at a local rum shack close to Juju’s)

When we went to Barbados in Dec of 2019 we had planned to rent a car.  But ended up hiring a taxi for the day.  We used Stephen Applewhite.  Pretty sure Apple taxi service.  He can be found on FB.  He was great.  We saw so much of the island, and it is gorgeous.  He gave fair price compared to renting a car and he made sure we had a great time.

I sailed with them on December 3 on the recommendation of Port Royal.  It was a group sail, but the owner allows a maximum of 12 passengers, I believe.  There were only 9 passengers and 3 crew when we sailed.  I join Port Royal in highly recommending them!  Great day!!

Taken both (private-special birthday one off treat).  
The group sail is restricted to 12 max, it’s like joining a small genteel private club, nervous at first, then introductions and everyone will fly.   Never had a bad companion.  

Interesting conversations, new friendships made, with plenty of private space to seek out if one wishes (maximum 12 guests or less on a large Cat equals space).  Great swim stops.  Food and drinks are top end, with service to match.  All this for a small fee.  Do book early.

We ended up doing the Beach Hop Island Style through Royal. It was a last minute decision and it was a wonderful excursion. Open air bus but very comfortable. Soft drinks and a rum punch included. 3 beaches. Very easily could have stayed at the first or second one all day. The third one was actually just down a bit from the second one. Busier and not as pretty. We paid $ 10 for 2 chairs and a umbrella at each stop just because we are shade people. 🙂 It was our favorite port and our favorite excursion. So much fun. My stepdad has mobility issues and he had a wonderful time as well.

We were staying on Barbados prior to boarding the Rhapsody of the Seas.  And here is a blog post about what we did as a tour.  We used Blessed Blossom Transport and Taxi Services.  Here is a description of a what we accomplished in a half day tour.  The trip to the Animal Flower Cave was so worth it.

Is Calabaza Catamaran still doing sailings in Barbados? We sailed with them in 2019 & had a fantastic time, Silver Moon is great also.
