Drinks in the theatre?

Hi all,

Due to go on Iona on a Northern Europe (Oct 22nd) itinerary.  We had to reschedule from the same itinerary back in Feb due to CV19 policy preventing our 12 yr old sailing - but which is now history (hoorah!).

Whilst most restrictions have now been lifted - are you now also allowed to have drinks in Headliners theatre - as in days of old?

It certainly wont be a showstopper (he he) if we cannot have refreshments in the theatre, but I was thinking that since the mask requirement has been lifted, had the drinks restriction been lifted also? - seems like a logical follow-on.

Thanks - Rob DJ

For information, on Ventura a couple of weeks ago dozens of people were taking drinks into the theatre, and no-one was stopping them, even though everyone was being checked in individually by staff to ensure they had pre-booked the shows.

I also noticed that on formal nights many men were dressed informally in the theatre and again nothing was said - I always thought the theatre required formal dress but perhaps this has gone too?

No shirt in the buffet was also seen - yuk! (males).

I don't think (in the past 10years anyway) it has ever been a requirement to wear formal dress in the theatre - I stand to be corrected though!

Dress code is only required in MDR, the Crow's Nest (or equivalent), and maybe some other venues (depends on which ship). Never known it apply to the theatre.

You are correct.

I am an old fart who likes the formal dress code in the MDR,  but even I think it is ridiculous to apply the dress code throughout the ship.
