We sailed once from Miami on Norweign where we parked right across the street from the ship.  Three minutes from car to ship.  Is Termainal V set up the same way with parking right across from the ship?

Oh yeah it's brilliant. BUT you might miss the turn to drop your bags off with the porter. We did the first time around.

If you need to drop off bags, get into the far right lane as you're approaching the terminal, it'll literally be right in front of you at the end of the road. Just before you reach the terminal there's a big "AHOY" sign on the right with a driveway and a small grey sign that says Terminal or Drop off, make that right turn to drive up to the terminal and drop off your bags. As you pull out of that area and back onto the road, get into the left lane and the entrance to the parking garage will be about 100 yards from there.

If you miss the terminal turn off, no big deal, you can make the loop circle back to the terminal in about 60 seconds. I speak from experience. 😆

We have an embarkation time on Virgin at 4:15 pm on 12/2. Will we have difficulty finding a parking space in Garage G at that time?

For starters, I'd show up about 3.  Those late boarding times will be allowed to board as soon as the earlier times have been processed.  As to whether you will find parking.....no one csn promise you anything.  If 100% of the cruise passengers drive to the port, probably not, but I don't believe that has ever happened.  There is no way to predict on a given date, but parking is not normally a problem.

Take a look at one of the port schedule websites to see how many ships will be in port that day. There always seems to be some room at the very top of the garage. But we've never come in that late. As mentioned above, show up about 3pm ish.  But keep in mind the traffic inside the port area can be very bad as I've mentioned previously here. Arriving at 3pm could mean you're actually parking at 4. 🙂

Possibly. We arrived at noon two weeks ago on a Sunday departure and it was very, very crowded already. Had to go up a few levels.

another warning- it took us. 45 minutes to exit the parking lot at around 10:30ish. The line of cars was so long!

One of the reasons we walk off by 7:30 - 8am. Yes it's nice to be able to stay onboard longer, but we'd rather get out of Miami before the day really gets started. 🙂

We had only done it once before and it was breeze. That parking lot was completely full two weeks ago. And they did a terrible job getting people out/paid.
