Anyone had their cruise randomly cancelled ?

Hi all,

So I used my casino deals to book B2B 20 day cruises on Thursday, which was an adventure in itself.  Thursday evening and Friday morning the cruises were on the website.  Now, after the weekend website mess, they are gone.  I checked with Live Chat this evening and they couldn't see them either.  I was able to give them the booking numbers and they said both were cancelled by the Casino.  I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else ?

Thanks !

There are several threads about Casino bookings being cancelled.  From what I am gathering, the Casino (a consignment department) didn't pay Princess when final payment was due.  Princess treated it like any other non-payment of final.  Seems as though everyone is blaming the casino department.

There were a few people who reported late last week that cruises that they had just booked with the casino were unexpectedly cancelled.  And this wasn't related to the periodic issue of cancellation shortly before the cruise because the casino didn't pay their share - it's supposedly a new problem that they are trying to get to the bottom of.  Would suggest that you contact the casino reservation area as they should be able to restore your bookings.  Good luck!

The Casino makes payment about 14 days prior to sailing. To make sure the booking doesn’t cancel for non-payment they add a code to protect the booking.

It sounds like the Casino protection (added by casino) wasn’t in place - so the booking cancelled.   The code can inadvertently be disabled if you make EZair reservations and don’t notify the casino so they can make sure the booking is still protected.  It can also happen if there was an error when the booking was created or if there is a computer glitch.

Call the Casino desk and let them know the booking cancelled. They will be able reactivate/restore  the booking for you.

I cancelled a cruise on Wednesday because I received a way better offer for the same date.  When I checked my Personalizer not only did they book the wrong offer but my FP is short $1500.  Called them back, said he would escalate to a Supervisor.

That night it cancelled and then shortly after was reinstated with transfers and still the wrong amount and offer.  I did not want transfers and that they were able to fix.   I've made multiple calls to get it rectified and so far nothing has been done.

Do I wait, notify my CC company for a charge back?  Cross my fingers and hope they fix it?  I am trying to be patient but this is their mistake.

Our very first casino offer was for a VIP that was cancelled for non payment which I caught and put my cabin on hold until I could speak to someone.   We never got the perks for that cruise, even though I had all the information with me to show them because we weren't on "the list".

So check everything when you get your confirmation, check your FP, Princess Plus and in your account under Future Cruise Credits you can confirm they booked it under the right offer.  Mine was given a come back and my VIP still shows as available.

For a cruise in August they still hadn't paid their portion 6 days before sailing said it would be done 4 days prior.  Nope I insisted they do it then which they did and the next day I received confirmation for a cruise I had booked prior for 5 days after I disembarked.

For my issue it is the casino's fault or an IT issue or a glitch whatever the latest cruise of mine they messed up isn't until April, so has zero to do with final payment.

Call the Casino Players Club a few minutes ago and they are sending in the reactivation for my 2 cruises.  Super nice guy and he said they've been slammed with calls since an internal error auto-cancelled loads of cruises at the end of the day on Thursday.  The supervisor has to authorize the updates.   That person is gonna have a busy week. lol

Hope you have better luck than I have had, waiting since Wednesday for them to fix mine.

You would think that they would have a list of the cruises that inadvertently canceled and would be proactive about restoring them.  Well, I can dream I guess.  Hope they do fix your reservations without you having to call multiple times.

Indeed you would think.  They still aren't restored.  Gonna give them a call back on Friday if they're still not there.
