Princess plus internet question and platinum discount

Can anyone please advise with the Princess Plus, which internet is included?

Cruise departs from Australia and I believe there are three internet plans - social, surf and premium.

 

With the platinum internet discount 50% can that be used on all internet packages or only specific?

Good question, but I don't know the answer.

I can say that i did 4 cruises back to back in August/September and I did both.

First two cruises I got discount for my mum being elite, which I prepaid and it was $5 per day.

The second two cruises I used Princess plus.

I found no difference in the quality of the internet. I use it a lot and didn't find it slow.

Plus package internet - you can stream Foxtel on it. If you are doing poyg, it would be premium.

I read it as PAYG - pay as you go.  Apparently you can just buy a day here and there when needed which would be handy for some.

If I book the Medallionnet package in the app before boarding, do they charge it to my obc?  I want to avoid having anything put on my credit card since I will struggle to use the obc otherwise.  We don't drink and are doing independent shore excursions.  I am platinum and qualify for 50% off.

They did for me. Although with Princess it's best never to assume consistency.

They took it off my card I had registered, did not deduct it from my OBC.

I understand that if you buy the internet package on board, it is more expensive. 

So does anyone know a way to buy the package beforehand and make sure it comes off the obc?  Do I have to call someone?  Do it while checking in or on the same day?

I ordered the internet package prior to the cruise and had to pay by credit card. The rep said that it could not come off my OBC.
