How much should I tip for room service?

We normally stay in a suite and if it is delivered by our butler we give a tip when we leave. If it is someone else we always carry a bunch of $2 dollar bills for extra trips.

 How much to tip is a personal preference type of thing. 

 

 We pretty much do what @kenb said except if it is not our butler and they set up the table, either in the room on the balcony, and are polity we'll tip between $2.00 and $5.00 depending on what bills are in my pocket at the time.
