How rough might it be in January on Wind Spirit (Tahiti)

Hi everyone,

I was just reading a trip report here where they were sailing Tahiti in September where they encountered 10' to 12' swells (yikes) so just wondering what the seas might be like in January and is this something we might encounter at that time of year?  I know you can't predict the weather (I actually run a 50' sailing catamaran in the US Virgin Islands so I know what "typical" seas and swells are like on any given month and can help our guests when they have questions regarding a typical swell) but just wondering what might be typical in Tahiti in January.

Thank you for any insight (and hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving)

I remember reading on this forum about a cruise in january a few years back where it was a total disaster weather wise. But as mentioned above, you can't predict weather. And in all honesty, I feel for the resident over there when there are flooding and other weather related events.
