One place that I wanted to try and find was Juggies Place. The smallest bar in the World... I didn't have my hand drawn map so I just had to use my memory of looking at the maps, and finally was on the right track.

Sure enough, it was small. Just a rectangular hole in the side of the building. They supposedly had a non milk milkshake with rum that everyone gets, so I asked about it. At this point I was the only one back in the alley, but the lady said it would fill up later.

On the back back streets I started noticing vans with signs on them. I figured that this must be the local bus system. I saw one that said "Maho", and I knew Simpson Bay was on the way to Maho. I stopped one of the drivers, and next thing I was on my way. I asked how much to drop me off at Captains Rib Shack, and she said $1.50... SCORE! I really didn't want to fork out twenty bucks both ways to eat, but now I had just found round trip transportation for THREE BUCKS...

About fifteen minutes later, she dropped me off right out front of the restaurant, and I gave her three dollars. You should have seen the look on her face. I wish I would've given her five...

Next thing you know, I'm placing my order, and drinking a three dollar beer.

The prices for things on St Maarten are extremely cheap compared to all the other Caribbean islands. The meal I was about to have was huge, and actually ended up being the best meal I've had all week, including the Steakhouse and Rudi's Sea Grill... Maybe not as good as the four hundred bucks I spent in Miami, but really really great...

I wanted to use the restroom again and wash my hands before eating. This is definitely one of the more interesting restrooms. You go through a rickety door, and there's a very small sink to the left. You look right and go up about three steps, then the actual restroom is right there...

Pretty soon my food came out... "Orgasmic ribs" as they call them, oxtails, rice and peas, and macaroni and cheese. I couldn't believe how great it was. When I was done, I told the waitress that the ribs "lived up to their name", and she was quite amused... This whole meal, including a beer and a bottled water came to $28.00... I gave her $40, and told her to keep the change... I would have happily paid forty plus tip, had it been that much.

PXL_20221208_161512657.thumb.jpg.b0e3be171bdbc2f27061eaa0cda62a2f.jpgWhen I was done, I washed my hands again and walked down to the little bay nearby. The sand was rocky, so I just took a few pictures and went back to wait for the next passing bus. I really wish our day here had been longer so I could check out more of this beautiful island filled with wonderful people...
