Drinks in packed Luggage

Hello,

Can you put drinks(non alcoholic )in checked luggage or do you need to carry on the ship?

Like a six-pack of coke? Yes you can have that in checked luggage.

Depends on the embarkation port.

 

For example, in Tampa, it has been a long standing policy for the port terminal for any cruise line that any beverage containers must be in carry on luggage, not checked luggage.

Technically any beverages should be carried on.

 

Will porters take it? Of course - they want a tip.

 

But if beverages you check do break (and yes, cans CAN break) and damage other people's belongings, expect to be required to pay for repair or replacement of said belongings.

You also run the risk of your luggage being held by security and you having to go to (where ever that will be on the ship) and open your luggage for further inspection. Then you will need to schlep your suit case to your stateroom. IMO, not worth the hassle. As others have suggested, pack your preferred beverage in  your carry-on.
