Rare Scottishclover Posted December 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2022 Has anyone participated in this activity? I wanted to try it on our last cruise but it clashed with Zumba. Hoping to give it a go on the Beyond in the summer. I’d really like to know 1) what type of ballroom dancing? 2) if you need to bring a partner? ( my husband is not a dancer) 3)is it fine if you are a novice? I’m just back from a swing dance workshop and it’s safe to say I’m no expert! WestLakeGirl Posted December 17, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2022 Many types, waltz one day, fox trot the next. No partner needed. It’s designed for beginners.
snow bunny Posted December 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2022 This is a 30 minute class where dance troupe members teach you three or four basic patterns. If you do not have a partner, we found that they just matched you with another single. As a social ballroom dancer, I am impressed that they can do four patterns in half an hour. snow bunny

I'm a ballroom dancer, and while I think they do a decent job with the patterns, it's clear that's all they know, ie no technique, but technique is mostly not necessary in these classes.
