Even the clothes we sent to be laundered still had stains when returned. I will be taking my own Shout stain remover and laundry detergent on our next cruise for sure. 

If you use the stain remover  that should work with the provided soap

Well, let's see, stains on a cruise ship....? Hmm, since I usually am not working on the engines there the stains I get will come from one of two things, Wine or Food, depending on the food both are usually pretty hard to get out.

Be careful.  You should use ocean friendly detergent.
