Hi, We are Canadians with a Spanish Visa question. We will have been in Portugal for over 90 days but were extended another 90 days by Portugal, However this cruise stops at 4 Spanish ports. We contacted your affiliate VisaCentral who told me they cannot help . Will we have problems boarding in Lisbon with an extended Schengen Visa extension that is supposedly only good for Portugal because we go to Spain as well? Please help, Robert.

Why the need to start a new thread when you started another one with the same topic/question about a month ago? You could just have "bumped" your old thread to the front page with a short comment. 😏

Maybe the Canadian embassy in Lisbon would know the answer to this, as it is a so special topic that is is highly unlikely that there would be anyone on the NCL forum who would know about it.....

If it's a Schengen Visa then it should be valid for all Schengen countries. Thats the whole point of Schengen.

A schengen visa is only valid for 90 days per stay without leaving Schengen - so the extension he is talking about is ONLY for Portugal. (As all extenstions of a Schengen visa beyond the 90 days limitation has to be for a specific country, according to the "EU/Schengen rules".

Thanks, I did not know about the bumping, I'll try to contact  the Canadian embassy in Lisbon.

As a former consul— the Canadian embassy might not make representations to you about other countries’ visas/laws as you could then hold them liable for any complications. You should contact the Portuguese government as you are there— the office that issued your extension— as well as the Spanish embassy there to make sure that they will honor the extension. You might also be able to get good info— or good contact info— on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for each country. I recommend getting the response in writing so that you can show it to immigration if necessary.
