thecruiserman Posted January 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2023 We just got our assigned check-in time: 1:40 PM. Do we really need to wait that late? Ship is Rotterdam.
CruiserBruce Posted January 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2023 You can try sooner. It has been reported many times here that most times it seems not to matter. If you are a high ranking Mariner or a Neptune Suite passenger, your final boarding pass will say "Preferred" on it, and you can board any time. esimon Posted January 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2023 I think it doesn't matter - I usually go early - at least you'll be at the port if they make you wait - 8th cruise - even since covid they let us on whenever - can't promise though
Rare FlaMariner Posted January 12, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2023 We've boarded 4x since the unpleasantness. Amsterdam and Port Everglades. We have never been stopped, asked to wait, wait for our boarding time, sit at the curb.....We have been welcomed in and we were able to check in. It is just like the pre-unpleasant days except today check in is much, much faster with the passport face recognition, etc. Another HAL upgrade! Disclaimer: Past performance does not guarantee future performance and YMMV.

Ship is Rotterdam. No. They won't make you wait at the curb. The worst that has ever happened to us is having to wait inside after checking in for a few minutes till all the priority boarding line slows down. We always have taken transfers from airport or hotel, and they seem to get there just as check-in starts.
