Teas are included but not the afternoon tea 🫖 package.

Don’t miss the cute little corridor between the Gin project and the Polo house full of informative info on the tea trade

Are the breakfast tea and elevenses covered by packages? Or are they the same as afternoon tea? And is it real clotted cream?

Have you visited the Speakeasy? I heard it’s accessed via the red phone booth. I’ve added it to my ever-growing list of must dos on the ship.

Glad to hear of the warm welcome you received in Saudi Arabia.

We have our tokens to cain entry and hope to go tonight.
There is a qr code on the back which you scan and it tells you where to go.

🤫. It’s a secret.

Where do you get the tokens?

Doha: Sadly, again the weather is against us! Thunder and heavy rain.
The Doha hot air balloon festival is right alongside the port but the weather is too bad for them to inflate!
Went into town quickly - it certainly has changed since last here in 2019! Lots of new buildings, still lots of football stuff around.
The new cruise terminal is stunning…you go up escalators to board through a huge fish tank!

They decide who gets them … it was my birthday which helped I think

Hmmm...my cruise on World Europa 2023 is within a few days of my birthday.  I'll have to look at the planner to see how to inform them of a celebration.

The Speakeasy!
What a concept. You go to a secret place and dial a phone number and say a code word and you’re allowed in… it’s dark and dingy and drinks come in surprising containers ( like petrol cans.. naturally ) . It’s very very clever.

I wonder how they determine who gets the invites out of (potentially) 6,700 or so passengers?  Do you have status w/MSC?

A quick question about formal nights as sailed on Bellissima in 2020 and nobody in YC wore a dinner suit but heard that MSC’s dress code was becoming more formal, so hubby can’t decide if he needs to pack his DJ for our cruise in 3 weeks.  What were the majority wearing?

I did a 10 night on Grandiosa in September and a 7 night on Virtuosa on December.  People were wearing anything from a tux (not many), to a suit or dinner jacket, to a nice long sleeved shirt paired with jeans or dress slacks.  If he can spare the space and weight in his bag, I'd bring a jacket.  I usually bring a suit and/or dress jacket, but it's not mandatory.

They’ve got one of my favorite cocktails on the menu: the French 75. I won’t be celebrating anything in particular on the cruise but I’ll beg for tokens if I have to. I wonder if they are easier to get if you’re in YC?

I’m looking forward to seeing what MSC does with the World America.

Also, btw, I’ve heard that the bar in the casino has great cocktails and is worth a visit even if you’re not a gambler. Hopefully (for me, at least) it’s a non-smoking casino.

Diamond.
As I said, DH arranged ours via our butler as it was my birthday.

However, there were a variety of people there, some of whom obviously didn’t “get it” and who left quite quickly… others threw themselves into the vibe and atmosphere!

The casino is very smoky! Of course the ship is full of Europeans who still seem to smoke like chimneys.
Unfortunately you have to walk straight through the casino to get to the aft Panorama Lounge theatre. Design flaw.
