From my experience in Iceland, don't be surprised by rain, sleet, and sunshine, all in the same day.  Iceland has notorious microclimates and fickle weather.  Wear layers, and have a rain coat.

I guess we were lucky to have no rain when we did a land trip in Iceland that was in March.

You were!  One day on our March trip it was warm enough to take off our coats, and later that day we were in a whiteout snow storm.

Our first trip, in May, I was fretting in the car because it was raining as we started our south coast tour. Then it was sunny.  Then it was raining.  Then it was sunny.  And so on.  I decided I didn't have enough mental energy to keep worrying and just took each change as it came!

I've got 31 days in Iceland under my belt.  Number of totally dry days is approximately 8.  number of "washout" days is about the same.  We slogged thru (literally) and had great times each day.

There is no bad weather in Iceland.  Just bad clothing for the weather
