Smoking and Spa Suites

I’ve stayed in a spa suite on Journey for 11 nights. Never a problem in the room or on the balcony. I did tend to alter my walking route not to use the pool deck doors that take you past the smoking area, but that’s hardly an inconvenience.

On a recent Pursuit cruise I was chatting to a passenger at a  'Chef Table' event.  She  and her husband were booked in one of the Club Spa Suites.  (We were to move to the Club Spa Suite on our second leg of the  same cruise).   She informed me  (because she knew we were moving into the same  CS suite on the second leg) that she had to complain about the smoking wafting into the small corridor outside the suite. After she complained they was duly moved to one of the Owners Suites without a fuss!  Wow!!

Regarding these spa suites, has anyone experienced noticeable movement due to its location?  I recall, prior to configuring it to suites, it was the computer room. I was in there when the ship was under way and in that location on deck 9, there was noticeable movement.  So much so that even the poor staff member was motion sick.  I have not considered these suites for that reason.  Anyone had any issues in this regard?

There was some motion when we were moving quickly between ports but, and I am prone to motion sickness, did not find it that bad

If the seas are bad these suites rock quite a bit, yes think of the same motion as at the computer desks. It’s because they are high and relatively forward.
As regards smoke smell it all depends if there are cigar smokers onboard and the wind direction if they have the little windows at the smoking area open plus how sensitive you are or are not to smoke smells
