Anyone have any updates on sharing being "enforced"?  It came to mind recently when we went to a very nice french restaurant where it was no issue to share.  We shared one appetizer, then had an entree and another appetizer, and shared a dessert.  We took home food. Just checking for updates of onboard experiences.  Thanks.

If you are all paying cash, then share away.

If you all have a dining package, share away.

If one person has a dining package, and the other is paying cash... don't sneak package food to the person trying to save money.

ha!  you are so funny, sneaking package food...

We will order what we can eat - probably 2 appetizers, one entree, two vegetables, and one dessert.  They can charge us what their policy is in that specialty.

We will ask for an extra plate so that we can share and not waste food.

If they charge two specialty dining vouchers, then it is what it is and we will not return.  If they charge one dining voucher and something a la carte that's fine.  If it all goes on one voucher, we will be very happy.

Thanks to all for the reports.

Recently off the Jewel. We had a group of 5 people using 4 SDP meals twice. We told our servers when we were seated, and they had no issues bringing us an extra plate to share. We were prepared to order a la carte, but the portion sizes were so large that there was no reason to order extra food.

Here's our report from the Breakaway Dec 24.

We had 4 SDP credits -

Used the 1st one in Cagney's by stating we wanted to use 1 and have the second dinner do a la cart.  Shared all courses of the SDP order and a la cart appetizer.  Waiter brought check and pointed out he had only charged the SDP.  Perfect for us, still left some of the ribeye.

Went to Cucino; was seated.  Then told the rules.  Asked to share one credit.  They checked; it was ok.  Shared one app, one pasta, and steak (was way too salty), one dessert.  Plenty of food.  Got receipt showing one credit charged.

Le Bistro at front desk told we only had one credit that two had been used in Cucino.  Told him that was not correct.  He checked the details and corrected.  We used 2 credits in Le Bistro.  Left some food but not enough to worry about.  Best dining experience for us - had the duck and the lamb.

So we made the credits work, don't really like the fine print.  It is what it is.

Thanks for coming back to report on your experience.

So...what I have gathered from this thread is that, while it may be the "officially stated" policy that there is no sharing, there are MANY documented examples of people successfully sharing...even one where the waiter was fully aware of the situation and only "charged" 1 dining plan credit.

Yes, but there are also times when one is not allowed to use one dining credit. We inquired about using one credit at Food Republic and the server gave us kind of a blank stare. We just said, nevermind, we'll use two. Both of us enjoyed our eight total items and ordered a ninth which was kindly comped!
