Customs entering Canada through Vancouver Cruise Port. Do I need an app?

I am a US citizens getting off a ship in Vancouver and heading to the Vancouver airport.  It was suggested that I download a app to help get through Canadian Customs.  I believe it is called Arrive Can?  Thanks for your advice.

No.  Just go through Immigration and Customs without fhe app.

ArriveCan was tied to Covid emergency protocols and travel. I believe it is no longer even being used.

 

Worry about Immigration,  not Customs.

 It's still being used for the purpose of making your customs and immigration declaration. Its use is optional.

Optional at airports only for now - all the other arrival modes it can't be used at all, so for a cruiser disembarking in Vancouver I wouldn't bother wasting the space on your phone.

 

It is however still of use for air arrivals, as it enables you to pre-declare your Customs statement - which does save a wee bit of time when flying in.

 

There's a chance it might roll back out to land and sea arrivals in future of course, but unless we see new Covid restrictions again it'll definitely remain optional so you shouldn't need to download it OP
