Muse Class Owner's Suite -- Pool Deck Right Above

These suites are definitely appealing, but their location is certainly of some concern.  They're right under seating areas around the pool deck on 10 above.  That kept us from booking one in the first place, and is keeping us from making a switch now.  There are few posts that I can find on these cabins in general, and could find only this one related to the pool deck noise:

It appears that whatever attempts to mitigate this haven't been entirely successful, but just what it's like is hard to gauge from that post.  I guess the question is how load this actually tends to be.  Granted, it's subjective, but can anyone tell us what it's really like in the evening or when trying to sleep in on an at-sea day?

Almost all ships are living off the old idea that the higher you are the better – which was probably true in the days before A/C.  But the top deck of cabins is under the pool and sun deck, which is a source of noise complaints on every ship I have seen reported on here on Cruise Critic.  What do to? They locate the top suites in that bad location and charge enormous sums for them, and Marketing calls Tom Sawyer [remember the episode with painting the fence?] and people line up to pay for the privilege!

FWIW on the Cloud we were in a Silver Suite under the pool deck area by the food station and it really wasn't that big a deal. We are not particularly sound sensitive, but are smell sensitive. Occasional furniture moving. Once in a while  little wiffs of music and food smells, but only enough to get us moving to investigate. 😀

It depends on how light a sleeper you are, and how late you want to sleep.😃

On a cruise with a lot of port stops, a but of early morning chair scraping wouldn't matter as much, but this one will be a 16 nt TA with more 'stay up sleep in' opportunities!

We have been in this suite on a trans ocean voyage and it is noisy from about 6.00am when they start to move the furniture around, we would not choose this location again no matter how good the suite is.

Agree with Mr Luxury, always have a suite above you.

Direct report much appreciated.  We have avoided such locations in the past, but wondered if there was some special mitigation employed for these otherwise desirable suites.  We considered the Grands for about a millisecond but their location up front makes them far from most everything, and especially on a TA, we enjoy a large, comfortable balcony, and these are right on the bow.  Guess they'd be good for fast hair drying, but... Similar concerns about the Royals.  Are we missing something???  Seems a strange ship design.  We're accustomed to better locations for upper suites on Celebrity.

May just stick with our better located Silver Suite.

Hi Canderson, try Silver Suite 1114, it is perfect, even though it is close to the lifts there is absolutely no noise whatsoever.

We grabbed 1105 to put a stake in the ground while we could, and then began investigating the options.  Silver is all waitlisted now.  No shot at 1114, but I do see the appeal re location.

We stayed in a Grand on Muse. We like the front when cruising in very scenic areas. Unfortunately, it wasn't our cup of tea. Yes the balcony was nice and spacious. But we found the room to be a bit cramped and dark.  Especially the bedroom.

We were in Owner Suite 945 on Muse in December/January, and loved this suite.

Yes, we sometimes heard some scraping of chairs in the morning around 7am, but nothing bad and it usually only lasted 10 minutes. It didn't bother us at all, as we were out of bed anyway.

The usual sound of creaking walls and ceilings, when the ship is moving, is much louder than the occasional noise coming from the pool deck.

We had much more noise during our previous cruise in Grand suite 801, where it gets very noisy when the anchor is dropped, sometimes very early in the morning. We much prefer 945.

We would stay in 945 again without any hesitation.
